English Chapter 20-Possessive Pronouns

  Possessive Pronouns (Kata ganti kepunyaan) sering dinyatakan dengan menggunakan my, your, his, her, our, their dengan menggunakan mine, yours, hers...

Perhatikan baik-baik perubahan berikut ini :

·           He is my good friend.

·           He is a good friend of mine.

·           Their car always gave them trouble.

·           The car of their always gave them trouble.

1. Penggunaan Possessive Pronoun

Possessive juga dinyatakan dengan menggunakan (genitive).

Contoh :

·           He is my father's friend. (He is a friend of my father's).

·           I'll have a week's vacation next month.

2. Possessive Adjective (Kata ganti kepunyaan sifat)

Kata ganti kepunyaan sifat harus diletakkan di depan benda yang dimiliki.

Contoh :

·           My book : Buku saya

·           Our teacher : Guru kita

·           Your house : Rumah kalian

·           Its colour : Warnanya.

3. Digunakan sebagai Pronouns (Sebagai kata ganti) yang dapat berdiri sendiri

·           Mine : milik saya

·           Ours : Milik kami

·           Yours : Milik kalian

·           Theirs : Milik mereka

·           His : Milik dia (Laki-laki)

·           Hers : Milik dia (Perempuan)

Tidak ada pengganti untuk benda mati (it).

·           Contoh :

·           This book is mine.

·           Yours is black/yours are black

·           My father is older than yours.

Keterangan :

·           My sister : sister of mine

·           Her bag : bag of her
